Hydroxycut

Did you guys see on the news that Hydroxycut has been recalled?  It has been found to cause liver damage and there has been one death linked to it.  Well, JB found this really good article on the diet industry and Hydroxycut by a recovering anorexic and I wanted to share it with you.  It's short so please read it.

I hope to internalize this...

That's a really great article. Somehow I'm not too surprised about Hydroxycut being very dangerous. The latest fad diet pills usually end up being bad health-wise.

I was particularly glad to read something to the effect of weight not packing on in a few weeks and that it shouldn't be lost that fast, either. I saw something on a magazine at the grocery store today that said, "Lose fifty pounds in a month!" and could only think of how unhealthy that is (if not impossible).

My co-worker informed me as she saw me (I'm ashamed to admit) putting the hydroxycut powder in my water. Kinda crazy.

Licketysplit - sounds like that was awkward, but I hope you stop taking it!

I like this quote:

"this is not worth my life or the expense, I’m going to do this the right way”

For many of us in this blog ring I think "doing it the right way" is probably by not dieting at all but learning to trust our bodies and accept them.

Thanks for sharing this!

It's so true. We all need to "wake up" (I know, not really the issue) and realize that there is SO much more to life!!

Great article - while I have never had a problem with "diet pills" per se, I know I have taken medication that is known to suppress the appetite. And it's not healthy - and it's not worth it. Thanks for the post - and thanks for finding it JB. :)

I found this article because we were discussing the evilness of diet pills. I was convince I needed to get some Xenadrine. OK, I'm still tempted, but not like I was before. This Hydroxycut shit is scary. And I'm sure Xenadrine is no better. It's just a matter of time before all of these drugs kill people.
